Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families

The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families has developed and delivered pioneering mental health care for over 60 years.

How does the Anna Freud support school?

Schools in Mind has been developed and is supported by The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. The following publications have been released and developed by the Anna Freud child mental health experts. It explains in simple terms what to do if you are worried about a child or young person in your school, and includes information on a range of topics including anxiety, low mood and self-harm.

Talking Mental Health with Young People at secondary school

This leaflet developed by the Centre's child mental health experts and featuring an introduction form the Centre's Chief Executive, Professor Peter Fonagy, provides simple advice and guidance to parents and carers about how to make conversations about their child's feelings part of everyday conversation. The teenage years are both exciting and challenging to parent and carers. It can be hard to know whether your child's feelings and behaviour are normal or becoming a problem.

These resources are here to help support your well-being and the well-being of your child.

We recommend that they compliment the help and advice you receive from your GP.
